Never In My Life

Never in my Life did I expect things to turn out this way… All the pain and suffering that at most times lead me astray Would be used to edify my soul and set me free Never in my life did I expect this to be me The one who spoke freely of her rise Always standing and fighting against my demise Never in my life would I have expected God to show me so much favor Beyond my choices and defiant labor Never in my life did I truly feel I would one day Conquer all these things which had me bound….. Yet I continue walk in my purpose and my destiny Now realizing my mind could never fathom the plans God has for me So instead I give all to God something that hadn’t come naturally Well now I know that even in my Never In Life moments What I purposed and see yet remains a mystery to me…… The only one who has the answers I seek is YHWH, Most High, My Creator whose spirit lives within me So I seek like never before, chasing after God as only I know Never In This Life did I think I would ever have so much peace Yet now I am free and who God has set free is free indeed All Glory unto God for this new perspective on life that I have found…. Blue Ivy Carter

The world welcomed the prodigy child of Jay-Z (Shawn Carter) and Beyonce`Knowles Carter on January 7, 2012. Blue Ivy has beome a legend in her own right just by the mere existence of her parents. Blue is already famous and she is only a month and few days old. Most are already speculating what her life will entale within the legacy that her parents have made for their family. JayZ and Beyonce are now noted as one of the Power Couples in the entertainment industry. Their creative juices and brilliant business planning have allowed them to rise to the top.

Blue's name is already wanted by most! On January 26th blue's parents had to file an application to trademark her name. The Carter’s trademark comes quick as a number of other individuals have already tried to trademark their daughter’s name. On Jan. 11, just four days after Blue’s birth, Joseph Mbeh sent in an application to trademark “Blue Ivy Carter NYC” and on Jan. 20, another applicant tried to trademark the name “Blue Ivy Carter Glory IV.” However, the trademark office struck down both applications, citing the fact that name belonged to a “very famous infant” and that customers would falsely assume that any products bearing the name were approved by Blue’s parents. Though, Mbeh did later claim that he intended to include Jay and Bey in his business plans.

As destiny would have i,t this little girl named Blue is already in the running for competive bids within the fashion industry. Her parents plan to have a line of baby cosmetics, baby carriages, diaper bags etc. dedicated to little Blue Ivy's name. There is no doubt about it, this child has made history in 2012. Oprah Winfrey has been named her Godmother and that within itself is a historic moment. I pray that little Blue is protected and respected as she deserves to be. For the family who has everything and money is no object I pray they are able to shower their daughter with love and a memorable upbringing that is not overtaken by media and naysayers.

Photos of Baby Blue have now been released by Jay Z and Bey after they were offered millions of dollars to sell their daughter's photos to the highest bidder. Instead they remained diginified and released the pictures on their own terms. I believe this family has now become one of America's own Royal Families. Peace and Blessings to the Carter's and Baby Blue Ivy!!

A Love Poem

The moment I laid eyes on you I knew
There was something about you
Didn't really know what was in store for me

Embraced your masculine physique
Brownskin, luscious lips, almond eyes
Your tone of voice soothed my mind

Never thought that embracing you would bring an epiphany
One that would tell a tale of you and me
You weren't my average pick

Yet I was drawn to you beyond me..
The way you moved, your swagger, your verbal skills
Little did I know the conversation would be tantalizing

You had me hanging on to every word
Every verse sent waves to my cerebrum
I captured the visual of your stanzas

My heart warmed & my soul ignited
There has never been another to do this to me
Fo real, your essence has kept me

The LOVE you give is unconditional
Yet it seems unbelievable & intangible
Never thought that this would be afforded to me

Yet I stand in awe THANKFUL
Unto YHWH for what had been given to me
You, My Husband, homie, lover, friend

In the end we all WIN
I'm Blessed with You
And You blessed with me

TRUE LOVE FINALLY

Dedicated to my beauski!! I love you!!!

Mumia Abu-Jamal

**My Disclaimer: I believe it is not the will of God that a man is to be held captive as long as Mumia Abu-Jamal has without just cause or substantiated evidence. I also Believe that Mumia still lives for a reason: A time and season for such a time as this!! It is time for the Nation of Healers to Rise Up! Free Mumia!!**

Mumia Abu-Jamal is a renowned journalist, author, activist, husband, father and grandfather from Philadelphia who has been in prison since 1981 for allegedly shooting Philadelphia police officer Daniel Faulkner. Despite overwhelming evidence of his innocence, prosecutorial misconduct, constitutional violations in his trial, police coercion of witnesses and documented racism, he remained on death row in Waynesburg, Pennsylvania. He is known as the “Voice of the Voiceless” for his award- winning reporting on police brutality and other social and racial epidemics that plague communities of color in Philadelphia and throughout the world. Mumia has received international support over the years in his efforts to overturn his unjust conviction and continues to fight!!

I first learned of Mumia Abu-Jamal two weeks ago. His face had always been familiar to me ironically, but I did not know his story! To hear of this man's struggle for freedom moved me as I drove the streets of Atlanta listening to WRFG 89.3. The voice of Dr. Cornell West rang as he spoke on the importance of supporting the Freedom of Mumia!! Desmund Tutu has also called for the release of Mumia.

It surprises me that Mumia has been locked up for 30 years on death row and the USA Government have not killed him. Whether or not it is the federal or state prisons that have not gone through with his death penalty is beyond me. I mean it just baffles me the POWER of this man, his connections, and intelligence. Mumia still claims his innocence and no true evidence has been found to pinpoint him to this heinous crime, yet he remains detained. He is no longer on death row as of December 2011, which means he is now in general population after being in solitude for 30 years.

I truly believe that God is on this mans side! Many have died on death row with less chances then he (Troy Davis), yet Mumia remains. I believe the movement which thrives on the very essence of Mumia's freedom is one that is pivotal to the African American People and our RISE in the Amercian Culture. It's high time for the silence to end and the PEOPLE of the nation to rise up.

A time comes when silence is betrayal. ~Dr. Martin Luther King~

As we have been told if we continue to be silent we betray ourselves and our communities. We must live for the people! One Voice, One Body, One Power. I am looking forward to the nation's response to issues such as this one that will dictate the future of our children's legislation and democracy. I support the FIGHT for Mumia Abu-Jamal's Freedom and I believe in My People that WE can make a difference.

You can support Mumia by liking his official FB page and follow him on Twitter and visit his website

She Shall Be Praised

Who can find a virtuous woman? for her price is far above rubies.
Strength and honor are her clothing; and she shall rejoice in time to come.
She openeth her mouth with wisdom; and in her tongue is the law of kindness.
She looketh well to the ways of her household & eateth no the bread of idleness.
Her children arise up, and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praiseth her.
Many daughters have done virtuously, but thou excellest them all.
Favor is deceitful & beauty is vain: but a woman that feareth the Lord,
She shall be praised. Give her the fruit of her hands;
And let her own works praise her in the gates.
-Proverbs 31: 10, 25-31

Troy Davis:Executed without Evidence

ISAIAH 33:22 For the LORD is our judge, the LORD is our lawgiver,
the LORD is our king; it is he who will save us.

Dear brothers and sisters: It saddens me to write about this particular execution. There are many that have happened in the USA before this one and unfortunately if nothing is done more to follow. First, let me say that I am against the DEATH PENALTY!! Always have been and always will be! I believe it is not right for one to take the life of another to punish them for crimes committed against humanity unless God forbid an extreme measure is presented. I believe the party at hand should be imprisoned for life.

Because I am a devout spiritual being, I know that even God allows the unjust another chance. Troy Davis was convicted of shooting a cop in Savannah, GA back in 1989. Officer Mark MacPhail was working as a security guard at a Burger King restaurant when he intervened to defend a man being assaulted in a nearby parking lot... I won't go into much more detail of this story please research it for yourself when you get time to. I have listed on source site below:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Troy_Davis_case .

Up until the time of his death Troy Davis declared his innocence and his last words to Officer MacPhail's family was:"I did not personally kill your son, father and brother. I am innocent,” and to those who executed him he said:“May God have mercy on your souls. May God bless your souls.” I must say that today I am saddened because I think back to the Casey Anthony case where minimal time served was sufficient. This man served 20+ years and with no evidence really at hand, along with many recanted statements. Witnesses now say they were coerced by the police to accuse Mr. Davis.

How is it, that he still gets the death penalty? I believe the system should have deliberated longer and used modern technology to look for evidence. Sadly Troy's life has ended and many mourn, not just for Troy but for a Justice system that seems to be so UNJUST. Fortunatley God has the last say so and even though I disagree with how things ended, God knew this day would come and how it would end.

I pray for those family members of Officer MacPhail's family as well as Troy Davis family. It is time for US Citizens to rise up and speak against all the heinous situations in the justice system. Many are executed all the time unjustly without enough evidence. Then there are those who are guilty and should be punished, but to death? I beg to differ..

As America believes in serving penalty to those who committ crimes, I believe the People of the USA should do everything in our power to insure the fairness of our system. Time for us to take action and rise up against the UNJUST that lies within our JUSTICE system. Truly yesterday September 21, 2011 is one that me and my family will never forget. Time to take action!! RIP Troy Davis.. May God Bless us all & have mercy on America....Psalm 27:4-5 One thing I ask of the LORD, this is what I seek: that I may dwell in the house of the LORD all the days of my life, to gaze upon the beauty of the LORD and to seek him in his temple. For in the day of trouble he will keep me safe in his dwelling; he will hide me in the shelter of his tabernacle and set me high upon a rock.

Psalm 9:9 The LORD is a refuge for the oppressed, a stronghold in times of trouble. Psalm 22:24 For he has not despised or disdainedthe suffering of the afflicted one;he has not hidden his face from him but has listened to his cry for help...
