The Enemy Within

What is this evil force men speak of?
One who deems to rule the world?
Where is his horns and jagged tail?

Is there really such a force that dwells within space
Or is it just within us? Do we embrace it
And then throw it away when we are done

As long as we invite it in it shall always be
So who is to say that it doesn’t exist within us
Lurking for an opportunity to pounce on

An emotion or feeling only to increase
In power bringing along others for
The treat, 7 more and 7 more and 7 more

Every time it returns within scores
Yet we continue to be unaware of the enemy
Within us that is raging war on our souls

Yet we live as dead spiritual beings
As the enemy takes control of our
Mind, body and soul

Truly the war is inevitable but it can be won
First you must acknowledge that you
Are not alone & not the only one

Who struggles with these types of dealings
Now that you have been warned take precaution
Guard you mind, heart and soul

Let no one take control
When the enemy strikes within and it will
Hold your ground and remain strong

Allow JAH’s spirit to guide you to
Safe and higher ground, in this life
You will face adversity

But do know that the enemy within is already
Defeated and the conqueror lives within you
The enemy within does not rule you

Free yourself of evil
And the residue will no longer linger
